Fujitsu Components America (Sunnyvale, California) has released its FP-2000CL – a high-speed, desktop, direct thermal printer capable of printing liner-less labels and paper receipts. The FP-2000CL was developed as a cost-effective alternative for multiple printing tasks within a wide range of applications. Typical applications include generating removable labels to expedite and ensure accuracy of orders and deliveries, as well as identifying container and product contents at restaurants and grocery stores. The new printer is also suitable for printing checkout receipts, customized coupons and special offers for retail and restaurant locations.
The compact, 5” x 6.8” x 4.9” desktop printer features a top paper exit while accommodating a wide range of paper widths (50/58 mm and 80 mm) and stock thickness (84µm liner-less labels, 65µm-85µm receipt paper). Notable performance specs include print speeds up to 230 mm per second and a cutter life of up to 1.5 million cuts. The software features include a 180-dpi mode, 16-level greyscale output for logo and image printing, logo storage memory, and two-dimensional barcode support (QR code, PDF417 and Datamatrix). The printer offers flexible connectivity options with industry-standard USB, RS232 and LAN interfaces. The new printer also supports printing from smartphones and tablets with the provided Windows drivers and SDKs for iOS and Android.
