Pacific Bindery to add PUR Perfect Binding

Print Industry News

Trade-printing specialist Pacific Bindery (Burnaby, British Columbia) is adding Polyurethane Reactive (PUR) Perfect Binding to its already comprehensive range of post-press finishing services. The Pacific team has decades of experience and expertise with complex print projects. PUR adhesives will open up a huge variety of high-value project work for its print brokers and partners. It’s the industry standard for adhesion and durability, enabling precise print finishing on a much wider array of papers, finishes, inks and coatings – including spot UV strike-through effects. This key addition comes after print professionals across British Columbia and Alberta have been asking for trade PUR perfect binding to handle their growing demand for perfect-bound production runs from 100 up to 100,000.

“We expect the installation a Müller Martini 18-pocket Perfect Binder upgraded with PUR glue-on-demand by mid-March,” said Scott Gray, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Pacific Bindery. “We’ve found a lot of printers in BC and Alberta are looking for support on that front, while the market winds its way back to a “new normal.” As we grow, we’ll continue to bring relevant, value-added finishing options to the marketplace. Western Canada has long been regarded as award-winning leaders in the North American print industry – and we aim to support our region’s reputation in any way we can.”
